Using the October 2020 Paper Pumpkin as my inspiration, I used Just Jade, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso for this card.
I used colors from the October 2020 Paper Pumpkin as my inspiration. The complete list of colors was: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Just Jade, Soft Sea Foam, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, and gold. This picture makes this card look quite sloppy. In reality, it is a beautiful card. I'll try to rephotograph it to show it's beauty.
This is the card I made during my October 19, 2020 Facebook live. See my blog post for dimensions and directions. I learned about this type of card from my friend, Jennifer Merle-Hamscher, Whispers in Ink. I changed the dimensions from what she shared in her Coffee and Cards video on October 17, 2020.
My team and I like to stamp during our monthly, virtual meetings. This month, Melissa shared a fun fold project from Jessica Taylor. Melissa told us that size cardstock and patterned paper we would need ahead of time, then led us thourgh the steps to create our cards. Here are mine.
Cardstock Color 1 (used for card base):
- 5.5" x 7", score on 7" side at 4.25"
- 3" x 3.5", score on 3.5" side at 3"
Cardstock Color 2 (recommend Whisper White or Very Vanilla):
- 2.5" x 2.5"
- 4" x 5.25"
Cardstock Color 3:
- 2 5/8" x 2 5/8" (Omitted on my house card--oops!)
DSP (If directional, should be vertical):
- 2.5" x 5.25"
The fun fold part is that you adhere the 1/2" tab on the 3"X3.5" piece behind the 4"X 5.25" layering piece before you adhere to your card base. The other pieces of cardstock are layered for the opening flap.
Hope this inspires you to try a fun fold on your next card!
Most often the September Paper Pumpkin kit contains a treat packaging project. Since my kids are older now, I don't need quite as many treat holders. This years kit contained pieces that worked well for background pieces and patterned paper on these cards.
I added corrdinating cardstock and ink. On the pumpkin card I embossed the Bu-mblebee cardstock piece. For the balloon card, I used the Balloon Bouquet punch and a stamp from Beautiful Friendship (page 115 in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog).
