This fun fold card is based on a sketch I found on Pinterest.
At OnStage@Home (Stampin' Up!'s virtual convention) in November 2020, we saw a demonstration of the ink swipe technique. Using ink spots (1" ink pads), you add ink to your paper directly. I tried it soon after convention ended and I was so inspired that I created lots of cards. I thought of many alternatives, too. What if you don't have ink spots in the colors you want to use? So I tried, sponges and acrylic blocks! Here are the results!
The Basic Gray and Cherry Cobbler ink spots were swiped on Designer Series paper from the In Good Taste paper pack. Enjoy the Moment stamp set finished off my card.
What if you don't have ink spots in the colors you want? Use a Stampin' Sponge and full sized ink pads like I did here! I used Seaside Spray, Pool Party, Balmy Blue, Pacific Point and Night of Navy inks. Stamping was done with Sailing Home and Enjoy the Moment for the sentiment in Night of Navy ink.
How about doing something other than stripes? I started with the outside, like a frame and added on from there.
And finally, what if you don't have Stampin' Sponges? Here I used an acrylic block to put the ink to paper.
Let me know how you do this technique!
Using the October 2020 Paper Pumpkin as my inspiration, I've used Crumb Cake, Just Jade and Early Espresso on this card. It was created during my Facebook Live video on October 26, if you'd like to watch at https://www.facebook.com/NorthStarStamper.SueKremer
