Team Meeting Stamping October 2020

My team and I like to stamp during our monthly, virtual meetings.  This month, Melissa shared a fun fold project from Jessica Taylor.  Melissa told us that size cardstock and patterned paper we would need ahead of time, then led us thourgh the steps to create our cards.  Here are mine.

Cardstock Color 1 (used for card base):

- 5.5" x 7", score on 7" side at 4.25"

- 3" x 3.5", score on 3.5" side at 3"

Cardstock Color 2 (recommend Whisper White or Very Vanilla):

- 2.5" x 2.5"

- 4" x 5.25"

Cardstock Color 3:

- 2 5/8" x 2 5/8" (Omitted on my house card--oops!)

DSP (If directional, should be vertical):

- 2.5" x 5.25"

The fun fold part is that you adhere the 1/2" tab on the 3"X3.5" piece behind the 4"X 5.25" layering piece before you adhere to your card base.  The other pieces of cardstock are layered for the opening flap.

Hope this inspires you to try a fun fold  on your next card!

Alternate ideas for September 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit

Most often the September Paper Pumpkin kit contains a treat packaging project.  Since my kids are older now, I don't need quite as many treat holders.  This years kit contained pieces that worked well for background pieces and patterned paper on these cards.

I added corrdinating cardstock and ink.  On the pumpkin card I embossed the Bu-mblebee cardstock piece.  For the balloon card, I used the Balloon Bouquet punch  and a stamp from Beautiful Friendship (page 115 in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog).

Chocolate Bar Wrapper

Chocolate wrapper

I made this chocolate bar wrapper on my Facebook live on October 5, 2020. (The video is also on YouTube.) In the video, I shared tips and tricks on making these. A small-sized gift card can be included in with the candy.

Make Your Own Card Kit

In my Facebook Live video on Monday, August 31 (uploaded to YouTube on September 1st), I shared an idea for creating your own card kit with products you already own.

I started with 4 pieces of 6"X6" patterened paper.  Stampin' Up! calls it Designer Series Paper, DSP.  I chose DSP either from the same pack or 2 packs that used at least a few of the same colors and either both used Whisper White or Very Vanilla (not a combination of both).  These choices make it easier to choose the colors of card stock and embellishments.  For added interest, I might emboss a card stock piece and add punches or die cut pieces.

Next I decided to use these layouts for my DSP:

I like working with 2" strips, so I chose to use layout A twice.  Using one larger piece of DSP on each card, I planned on getting 12 cards.  For these 12 card basess, I need 6 sheets of card stock.  For 12 card layers, I planned on 3 sheets of card stock.  Allowing for more Whisper White for my sentiments, I planned on 11 full 8 1/2" by 11" sheets of card stock in a variety of colors coordinating with my DSP.

This is the kit I created in my video, Make Your Own Card Kit, using the Forever Greenery DSP.  You can watch that video on both Facebook and YouTube.

The last card is a 'bonus' 13th card using the 1/2" and 1" scraps.  I share this technique in a second video from early September 2020, Using (Scrap) Paper Strips.
